Dum Pendebat Filius

In the Internet tradition of “cat blogging,” here’s a picture of Buddy, my sister’s boyfriend’s cat. Buddy is going to stay with me for a week while his owner is overseas on business. He (the cat) was very unhappy in the car, mewing piteously the length of the BW Parkway and half the Capital Beltway; he was, understandably, somewhat anxious and disoriented when first made free of my apartment, but after spending some time hiding in the closet, he soon emerged, explored the place to his satisfaction, and settled down to purring contentedly on the carpet.

He doesn’t realize it, but he’s now literally an inside-the-Beltway fat cat (albeit temporarily).
