Blue-state dogs
I’m now living in blue-state Western Pennsylvania, readers. I up and moved to the Steel City. Around here, even the dogs are reliable Democrats:

Mystery voted Rick Santorum out of office in the hopes of someday getting a gay marriage and purchasing abortifacients over the counter.

And Okapi sits in the living room all day, looking French, waiting for his chance to surrender to the Islamofascists.

Okapi looks more like a counter-revolutionary to the counter revolution.
Can’t believe you moved West, I thought you’d get some sort of mountain sickness if you got too far from the mighty Atlantic. How goes it out yonder in steel country?

Pittsburgh is a good place. I like it here. Right now, I’m house-sitting for friends (and taking care of their blue-state dogs) for a few months while they’re out of the country.
I had gotten thoroughly burned out on the “inside-the-Beltway” lifestyle. The DC area has lots to recommend it, but it’s getting so damn overcrowded (and expensive) that it’s no longer a particularly good place to live. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Mystery is laying on her belly like your fat-cat pal, Buddy! I thought it was a cat thing, but apparently we bring out the “belly” in an animal!
