Dum Pendebat Filius

A sniff in the kortevar, that what you cry for, yeled? A prert up the cull, a prang on the dumpendebat?

Gruesome

CNN reports that Al Gore’s “top policy adviser from his 2000 presidential campaign and other key supporters met Thursday in Boston to mull a potential Gore campaign.” Gore, who was not involved in this meeting, has said he will not be running for President in 2008.

It’s hard to imagine a bigger waste of time than a draft-Al-Gore campaign. Why? Look at the numbers, which were linked to in today’s Daily Howler:

CBS News Poll. Jan. 1-3, 2007

“Is your opinion of Al Gore favorable, not favorable, undecided, or haven’t you heard enough about Al Gore yet to have an opinion?”

1/1-3/07:
Favorable 32%
Not Favorable 46%
Undecided 19%
Haven’t heard enough 2%
Refused to answer 1%

Readers, these are simply gruesome, George-W-Bush-style numbers. Take a look at President Bush’s latest favorability ratings:

CBS News Poll. Jan. 18-21, 2007

“Is your opinion of George W. Bush favorable, not favorable, undecided, or haven’t you heard enough about George W. Bush yet to have an opinion?”

1/18-21/07:
Favorable 27%
Not Favorable 56%
Undecided 14%
Haven’t heard enough 2%
Unsure 1%

President Bush: 27-56. Al Gore: 32-46.

Personally, I would like it very much if Al Gore were our next president. I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. But the Liberal Left-Wing Mass Media spent nearly two years making up stories about Al Gore’s Horrible Character Issues, such that six years later, he still has absolutely gruesome favorability ratings with the American people. It’s a shame, but those are the facts.

  1. Stram:

My question would have to be, who are the 2% of the idiots in this country who, ‘Haven’t heard enough’?
