Simple Answers to Straightforward Questions, vol. 1

Michelle Malkin asks: “Do they [Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama] believe that al Qaeda dry runs are figments of our imagination? That global jihad and the spread of sharia are fantasies?”

I would like to answer those questions, please:

  1. Yes. “Al-Qaeda dry runs” are figments of your imagination.
  2. Yes. “Global jihad and the spread of sharia” are fantasies.

I can’t speak for Clinton or Obama, obviously, but anyone who still has three or four functioning brain cells should have no trouble answering Yes to those two questions.

This concludes today’s installment of Simple Answers to Straightforward Questions.

  1. Stram:

It would seem to me that if those ‘imams’ were really on a ‘dry run’ they would have tried to be a little less conspicuous, don’t you think?

I like what the Wonkette said. If the people who Malkin constantly cheers for were in total control of this country she would be doing their laundry and making them bowls of noodles.

  2. dumpendebat:

As far as I’m concerned, you’d have to have rocks in your head to take this “dry run” stuff seriously.

Before 9/11, the paradigm for airplane hijackings was Just do whatever the hijackers say and nobody will get hurt.

9/11 changed that, in a big way. And so did Richard Reid, the would-be shoe bomber.

Now everybody on every airplane is always watching everybody else for signs of “suspicious behavior.” There’s no longer any reason for a terrorist to try and sneak onto an airplane, because they’ve already got most of us scared half to death anyways. And the Richard Reid incident proved that if anybody actually tries something, his fellow passengers aren’t going to just sit there, they’re going to fight back. Everybody learned on 9/11 that the old “Do what they say and nobody gets hurt” doesn’t apply any more. People are going to fight back, and it’s not like terrorists don’t know it.

So all this Annie Jacobsen/Michelle Malkin “Terrorists are making ‘dry runs’ on American airplanes” stuff is just pure paranoia. It’s an urban legend. You can’t even bring a fucking bottle of water on an airplane today, for crying out loud.

  3. Hank Dagny:

Dump, who do you blame for us being ’scared to death’ and ‘unable to bring a fucking bottle of water on a plane’?
Is it imagination and fantasy or an enemy that wants you dead?
You contradicted your own argument and don’t even realize it. Such is the life of a liberal.

  4. Ziem:

“Dump, who do you blame for us being ’scared to death’ and ‘unable to bring a fucking bottle of water on a plane’?”
    bush and his fear tactics

“Is it imagination and fantasy or an enemy that wants you dead?”
    bushco’s imagination

I agree a scared population is easier to control. I also agree that we will be hit again, larger and more devastating. Bush’s policies will see to that.

  5. dumpendebat:

    >You contradicted your own argument and don’t even realize it.

Why don’t you explain the contradiction? Explain how the fact that people are scared after 9/11 proves that Al-Qaeda terrorists are still making “dry runs” on American airplanes. Explain how the fact that we’re forbidden to carry bottles of water proves that these “dry runs” are not a figment of your imagination. Can you do that?

  6. Stram:

Mr. Filius, you actually want Hank Dagny to explain something?

He’s one of the pathetic scared little sheep and always has been.

  7. Ziem:

Hey Stram, didn’t this guy, Hank, grace LA at one time or another?

  8. dumpendebat:

Yes, “Hank Dagny” has been known to visit comment threads at The Liberal Avenger from time to time.

  9. Hank Dagny:

Are you that into verbal gymnastics instead of discussion of fact?
    A. “Global Jihad is a fantasy”.
B.”Dry runs are an urban legend.”
    C. “You can’t even bring a f’ing bottle of water on a plane.”

If A and B are true, then they are the reason for C.
If A and B are false, then why is C true?

If A and B are false, as you claim, would you gladly fly without the increased security? Word games are really a waste of time, Dump. I thought you were better than that. Quit reading Stram’s BS and use your head.

And Stram, you low life bucket of shit. If another attack happens during Bush’s presidency, you will be the first one calling for impeachment for failure to protect your sorry treasonous ass from this ‘fantasy.’

  10. dumpendebat:

    >If A and B are false, then why is C true?

Because people are scared, and they want the illusion of extra safety.

    >If A and B are false, as you claim, would you gladly fly without the increased security?

Yes. The “increased security” is a dog-and-pony show that’s supposed to make us feel like we’re being protected when we travel.
