Lock Up Your Cats
Guess who’s on the short list to replace Winston Wolfowitz (“I Solve Problems”) at the World Bank, readers? Give up? It’s good old Bill “Videodrome” Frist!
Lock up your kittycats, readers, when you see Big Bill approaching:
Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is being carefully considered by the White House as a replacement for Paul Wolfowitz as World Bank president, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The Bush administration intends to appoint an American and is drawing up a list of possible nominees, despite calls for a more international search for a candidate, the Journal said.
Frist, a doctor who worked to secure U.S. funding to fight infectious disease in Africa during his 10 years in the Senate, is favored by National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, the Journal reported, citing a person familiar with White House deliberations.
The nice thing? Frist could do the job from home. Before making World Bank decisions, he would simply have to watch a video or two.
