Crazy Pammy: TSA Are “Pigs,” “Enemies of America”
Yes, readers, Crazy Pammy says the U.S. Transportation Security Administration are “pigs” and “enemies of America.”
It’s enough to make your skin crawl. Atlas readers in the Oakland area – write your congressman now. These pigs arene’t [sic] fit to wipe the boots of those Marines. These enemies of America really ought to go lie [sic] in the Islamic country of their choice. I’ll contribute whatever I can to such a fund. They are destroying America.
That’s right, readers — employees of a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are “pigs” who are “destroying America.” How can this be so?
Well, she links to a Corner blog post from the inimitable Michael Ledeen in which he passes on an email sent to him by a Marine chaplain. The chaplain says that Marines and soldiers who pass through the Oakland airport have been treated shabbily: not permitted to enter the passenger terminal, made to sit and wait for long periods of time, subjected to intense searches.
Ledeen’s correspondent ends by saying, “It felt like being spit on. Every Marine and soldier felt the message loud and clear, ‘YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN OAKLAND!’”
And readers, I think that’s the source of Crazy Pammy’s vitriol: I don’t think she actually read Ledeen’s blog post, which is entitled “Spitting on Marines.” (She uses the same title for her own post.) I suspect that one of her intrepid readers forwarded her the link, and she assumed it was a story about some dirty hippie spitting on a Marine in the Oakland airport (the famous “spitting on the troops” myth Americans have enjoyed since the late 1960s). Hence her paint-blistering fulminations against “these pigs… these enemies of America… they.” I don’t think she actually realizes who she’s calling “pigs” and “enemies.”

You have to be fairly stupid to believe that anyone is treating our military with that level of indifference.
Oh that’s right, we are talking about a deranged wingnut audience, aren’t we?
Well, I guess when you think about it, what else do they have to rile each other up with? It sure isn’t the way they’ve fought the ‘war on terror’, is it?

Crazy Pam and Ayn Coulter have made it clear that they want intrusive searches, but only for people who are the “wrong” religion or ethnicity. They’re not concerned about security. What they want is for us to begin treating people they don’t like as second class citizens.

Gordo, check out Jillian Bandes’s infamous screed from 2005 if you haven’t already seen it. It’s a true classic of the genre.

If she genuinely knew any Arabs, she would recognize that a) many Arabs are Christians, like my esteemed friend Dr. Jack Zilfou, and b) that people who consider themselves ‘Arabs’ exhibit a wide variety of physical characteristics, from average-looking-if-slightly-hairy white guy to sub-Saharan black.
I wonder if Persians get off the hook…
