Dum Pendebat Filius

A sniff in the kortevar, that what you cry for, yeled? A prert up the cull, a prang on the dumpendebat?

Ad Majorem Wingnutti Gloriam

“Dr” Jack “Young Indiana Jones” Wheeler is a shameless crackpot.

His lurid, sickening accusations about John McCain were met with a solid and thorough debunking by James H. Warner, who was a POW in North Viet Nam with McCain. Faced with Warner’s debunking, and unable to provide any evidence to support his own nasty crackpot lies, Wheeler’s best bet would have been to shut his mouth and go crawl in a hole for a while. Instead, Wheeler has decided to brazen it out with an amazing display of chutzpah.

Shorter Jack “Young Indy” Wheeler

The sycophantic paranoiacs who comprise the bulk of my paid readership are still on my side after my shameless smearing of a war-hero POW. James Warner used to be my friend, but the Commies must have brainwashed him or something. I sure don’t like John McCain, which means he’s not trustworthy, which means he must have spent his time in North Vietnamese captivity in a comfy apartment having sex with two hookers. I can’t prove any of my ludicrous charges or back up any of my anonymous smears, but they’re all true, because McCain is a bad guy, and because I say so. Besides, I’m smearing McCain for the greater glory of wingnuttery.

  1. gordo:

As I wrote recently, there is a particularly delicious aspect of the drubbing that McCain is sure to receive: a significant fraction of the GOP will attribute the loss to McCain’s being TOO LIBERAL, and so they’ll search for candidates who are even further to the right. It’s going to be a fun few years for the Democrats, until the Republicans finally figure out that mainstream America has been drifting leftward ever since Katrina.

You might be right about that, Gordo. At first I had trouble believing it, but the right-wingers and “movement conservatives” truly believe that McCain is a terrible choice for the GOP nominee because he’s not enough of a wingnut. It’s amazing to me.

And I think you’ve hit upon an interesting insight: the Hurricane Katrina fiasco was probably the moment when the Bush administration “jumped the shark,” the moment when all but the hardcore true believers realized enough was enough, the moment when President Bush finally reached “the BTKWB limit.”
