I’m outta here
The long-awaited vacation is finally here, readers: the first leg of the journey starts tonight, with a flight to the Horn of Africa. I’ll be back, with pictures from Ethiopia and Egypt, during the first week of June.

I’m pleased to report that no one in Ethiopia or Egypt showed me the slightest bit of anti-American hostility. People don’t like our foreign policy much, but they don’t blame individual American citizens for it.
