Readers, I’ve been hoping Rush would do the “due diligence research” he promised his listeners he’d do [see my previous two posts], but it doesn’t look like he and his staff ever managed to find the time. (He’s got much more important things to do, such as accusing Sen. McCain of “kissing Obama’s butt” and [...]

I’ll be interested to see if Rush and his staff will do the “due diligence research” he said they’d do on the Lord’s Resistance Army [see previous post]. Will he admit the truth: that the Obama administration is not “targeting Christians” in central Africa, but helping regional governments get rid of a noxious, vicious gang [...]

When I first heard about this, I thought it was a joke, but it’s for real, readers. Rush Limbaugh has spoken out in support of Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army, eagerly accusing President Obama of “targeting Christians.” Look at what Rush said, according to transcripts of his radio show posted on his own official website: [...]

Readers, I am a member of the NRA. I am a handgun owner, and I am a believer in the Second Amendment. Gun ownership is a fundamental right we have as US citizens, and it’s important that we never forget that. I am also a member of the ACLU, but I think the ACLU has [...]

I remember when many liberals and Democrats claimed to be very upset when the George W. Bush administration decided it was OK for the US government to wiretap citizens’ phones, eavesdrop on citizens’ communications, even put people in prison and hold them there, incommunicado, while subjecting them to “enhanced interrogation techniques,” indefinitely, without even bothering [...]

Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara finally took the oath of office last Saturday, 21 May 2011, having been elected last November. The outgoing president Laurent Gbagbo had refused to leave office, despite the fact that his defeat had been recognized by the international community, the UN, and the African Union. His refusal to leave office [...]

Not often, but on a regular basis (at least once or twice a year), I’ll hear someone refer to the act of nodding one’s head (by which I mean “moving one’s head up and down to indicate yes“) as “shaking” one’s head (by which I mean “moving one’s head side-to-side to indicate no“). For example, [...]

In the Weekly Standard, David Mamet explains his conversion from the Liberal tribe to the Conservative tribe: “But I saw the liberals hated George Bush. It was vicious. And I thought about it, and I didn’t get it. He was no worse than the others, was he? And I’d ask my liberal friends, ‘Well, why [...]

Readers, I just came home from the grocery store, and my receipt says (if I’m reading it correctly) that the cashier gave me a “senior citizen” discount. That saved me $3.67, which is OK, but the thing is, I’m only 40 years old. Time to think about “Just For Men?”

I’m off to Africa tomorrow night, readers (13 March 2010). I probably won’t be back in the US until April 2011. If you are interested, why not follow me on my travel blog?
