Wingnut Says Liberal “Rogue” CIA Wants to “Sabotage” Our Government
Here’s a blast from the past, readers: in July of 2005, I made fun of an eructation from David’s Glug (at FrontPage Magazine) in which an incandescently angry David Horowitz made the assertion that Valerie Plame was a “rogue CIA employee” who was bent on destroying the Bush presidency and ensuring America’s swift defeat in the Global War Against Islamofascism.
And a blast from the present: an interview with some looney-tune tool named Rowan Scarborough, who has penned a new “book” which asserts that the CIA is a “rogue organization” bent on “sabotaging” the Bush administration and the United States of America. And can you guess whose fault it is, readers?
I believe this dates back to the 1990s. Under the Clinton administration, the clandestine service was devastated, shrunk by as much as a third. A lot of seasoned operators were shown the door. But the Clintons were good at putting their loyalists insider the bureaucracy. The CIA, in other words, became a more liberal place. And when these elements saw people or programs in the Bush administration they did not like, they leaked negative news media stories to destroy them. The motivation was political.
That’s right, readers: in the midst of a Global War Against Islamofascism, our own clandestine intelligence service is bent on destroying our President, consequences be damned. The curse of the Clenis is continuing to damage our nation to this day!

The CIA is rightfully ‘against’ the Bush administration because they [cheney, hadley, wolfowitz, pearl, abrams, ...] trumped up the lies to take us into Iraq and then tried to blame the CIA for their bogus intel. Those CIA agents, unlike Tenet, thankfully, won’t roll over for the lying bastards.

I never knew that the Clenis had a curse. I always imagined it was like some kind of magical staff, like Gandalf’s staff. e.g., You can take Glamdring in one hand and the Clenis in the other, and then say “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!” to some right-wing legislators who want to pass some bill like ‘Rape the Achuar People in Defense of Freedom(tm)’ or something.
I suppose it’s a kind of cursed item, and you can’t take it out of your hand and stuff. Maybe it drains stats, too.
What do you think?

The CIA’s issues with this administration are legion. No need to look further than White House directives to torture detainees and CIA compliance. Those alone have the potential to doom the agency’s future. Look for the Red Cross to publish its findings on the first day of a Democratic administration resulting in hearings, arrests, and public trials of disgrace.

With all due respect, you haven’t considered the other and entirely more likely option: that those in power shall wallow in corruption indefinitely, with no marked change.
