As usual, Digby is right — voting for Chris Matthews for the US Senate would be a horrible, horrible mistake. I agree with Digby 100%:
… Matthews is a bridge too far. I could never vote for, raise funds for or in any other way help Chris Matthews become a member of the Senate and if it came down to it, if I lived in Pa, I’d probably support Specter. If we thought Lieberman was perfidious and unreliable, we haven’t seen anything yet. Matthews is very nearly nuts as far as I can tell.
Well, I do live in Pennsylvania, and I’m here to tell you right now, I will vote for Arlen Specter if Chris Matthews actually runs against him.
I don’t give a shit what political party Chris Matthews allies himself with, the man is a fucking looney-tune and has no business even talking about the Senate on TV, much less standing for office and trying to get elected to the Senate.
I’d vote for Hank Dagny before I’d vote for Chris Matthews.

You have some pitiful standards. Specter over Matthews, yes. But HD?

I have voted for Republican candidates exactly twice in my life:
2004: I lived in the District of Columbia at the time. I was one of the only 8% of Washingtonians who voted for Michael Monroe (instead of Eleanor Holmes Norton) to be DC’s non-voting delegate to the US House of Representatives.
2007: I voted for Mark DeSantis (instead of Luke Ravenstahl) for mayor of Pittsburgh.
If Chris Matthews runs for the US Senate in 2010, that’ll make it three Republican votes for me.

I have to admit I have voted for a few more Republicans than that. Although I haven’t voted for one in the last 17-18 years.

GO Steelers! Well, not really.

I’ve been on the road like 50% of the time since Thanksgiving and just haven’t felt like putting anything on this blog.
I’m getting ready to move back to the East Coast in a couple of weeks. I can’t seem to stay anywhere more than a couple of years…
